The short version: WalkOn does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything stays on your Mac. We have no analytics, no telemetry, and no crash reporting.
What WalkOn Accesses on Your Mac
WalkOn accesses the following system resources locally on your device:
- Apple Music library — To browse and play songs as entrance music. Requires your permission via a macOS dialog. Song data is read via MusicKit and never leaves your device.
- Running applications — To detect active video calls (Zoom, Meet, Teams, Slack, FaceTime). Uses the standard macOS process list. No permission required.
- Microphone activity state — To check if your microphone is in use by another app (part of call detection). This is a read-only system query. WalkOn never records audio from your microphone.
- Local audio files — When you import custom audio files (Pro feature). Files are accessed via security-scoped bookmarks and never uploaded anywhere.
What WalkOn Does NOT Do
- Does not record, capture, or transmit audio
- Does not collect analytics or usage data
- Does not include any telemetry or tracking
- Does not send crash reports
- Does not make network requests (except for the one-time purchase activation flow)
- Does not create user accounts
- Does not store your email address
Purchase and Payment Data
When you purchase WalkOn Pro, the transaction is processed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited), who acts as the Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment information (card details, billing address, email) directly. WalkOn never sees or stores your payment details.
After purchase, a cryptographically signed activation token is generated and stored locally in your macOS Keychain. This token does not contain personal information.

Data Storage
All app data is stored locally on your Mac:
- Song selections and preferences — stored in ~/Library/Application Support/WalkOn/
- Pro activation token — stored in macOS Keychain
- Settings — stored in macOS UserDefaults
No data is synced to the cloud or transmitted to any server.
Third-Party Services
WalkOn does not integrate with any other third-party services.
Children's Privacy
WalkOn does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The App does not collect information from anyone.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
